Bikram Yoga
Bikram Yoga (hot yoga) IS AMAZING. I had never done yoga and was not sure what to expect but I went in feeling confident and strong because I thought I could handle it since I work out. After 20 minutes in the a room that feels like sauna (40ºC) with about 30 other students, I felt light-headed. The instructor warned me earlier and told me that it was normal as my body was just losing massive amounts of water. It's true. I was sweating head to toe, my heart was beating almost as fast as when I go jogging.
It was an intense 90-minute session and I think I have a new-found love for Bikram Yoga. The one I went to was at Raffles City Shopping Centre, it's call Bikram Yoga City Hall. I would highly recommend it. And what's not to love about their tagline - "Look good naked" ?
Realized I have a couple of minor bruises from yoga, it shouldn't last long though. I STILL LOVE YOGA.

I am so excited because alot of people have been talking about the benefits of yoga and how great it is for your body.

Here are great recipes for your skin that are so simple any one can do it.
1. A face mask of egg white and honey gently removes dirt build up on the face. Face will feel smoother and more supple.
2. Cucumber is a natural cleanser. Mix cucumber juice with milk and use it instead of a cleanser.
3. For oily skin, apply a mixture of grapes, lemon and egg white. Leave it or twenty minutes and rise with warm water. While the lemon acts as a natural censure, grapes will soften your skin and egg white will tighten it. Grapes are great!
4. Mix half a cup of honey into your bath water for soft and smooth skin.
5. Use RAW honey and mix it with some salt and use it to scrub your skin. Do this while your skin is dry or slightly damp. Rinse off or leave on for 10 minutes. (This is MY secret recipe). Of course it works better if you use raw honey.

Ok, I know, cheesy name. Soba noodles+tomato = Sobato

Interval Training

Time to step it up.
Before I start, I must recommend that you do not check your weight on the scale too often. This is because if you are weight training, and to a lesser extent cardio training, you may be discouraged that your weight is going up after you exercise. However this is most likely muscle. Remember that muscle is more dense than fat. If you are hitting a plateau in your weight interval training is definitely for you.
Some key points to take note of:
- The best plan may be to check your weight once a week.
- When you do a weight check, always do it first thing in the morning after you’ve relieved your bowels and bladder and before you eat breakfast.
- Keep a chart of your weekly weights so you can be aware of any fluctuations.
- Muscle is more dense than fat, if you've been weight training and realize that you've put on some weight, don't be alarmed.
Now let's talk about interval training.

What is Interval Training?
If you are like most of us, when you train, you train with the same routine that you have done for months/years. You may be running at the same pace or even lifting the same amount of weights you have been for months. Our bodies just like us, gets used to repetitive behavior. Our body actually uses less energy to do the same task. So the more you do the same task over time, the less energy you use to do it with.
Interval training actually doesn’t allow your body to get used to a routine.
- An example would be running at a low speed for 10 minutes, then running at a much higher speed for 5 then back to the low speed again.
What are the benefits of Interval Training?
Interval training majorly shocks your cardiovascular system, and this will allow you to melt away those pounds much faster. Using interval training will increase your fast-twitch muscle fibers and this in turn causes your body to burn a lot more fuel. This can make you more agile, which will greatly enhance any sport you play.
Common Mistakes with Interval Training
The most common mistake when introducing interval training in your exercise program is that some of you don’t warm up their muscles sufficiently. Please remember, that when you start to introduce anything that has high intensity levels, it is always essential that you warm up your muscles adequately. Start with a low level of intensity and gradually increase your speed. 5 minutes is an adequate warm up, as long as you begin to start breaking a sweat. Warming up allows your body to start pumping blood quicker and more aggressively to supply your muscles with the fuel they need for the increased intensity ahead.
If you get cramps often, you haven’t given enough time for your muscles and cardiovascular system to adequately pump blood and remove waste products from exercising.
Use of the usual gym equipments such as the elliptical, rowing or cycling machine for warming up (not more than 10 minutes).

When you're around, most of the time all I want is to be alone. I can't help it, I was brought up that way. I remember when you used to tap me to sleep before leaving to work. I'd fall asleep because I knew you were around but I always know when you leave the front door even though you try to gently close it. I don't remember if I've cried when I'm left alone at home but I never failed to keep myself occupied. I'd stay in the living room because I felt that it was the most safest place in the house, and plus, I'll see you step in the second you get home from work. On your days off, you'd make breakfast for me the way I liked it - sunny side up - so I could fill the spoon with the liquid-ish egg yolk. I loved it.
In school I didn't have alot of friends. That didn't bother me though because I knew I had you even though sometimes you couldn't be there for me because of work. But I understood that it was all for my own good too. I must admit, I did just okay in school, maybe you had expected better, but no matter how bad I did, you'd always support me in everything I wanted to do. I'd hide things from you but it surprises me all the time when I realize that you are usually fine with it, had I told it to you.
You made me learn how to overcome my loneliness and fears and be independent. You've always supported me in everything I do, allowed me to go anywhere I wanted to go even though that means we will be apart and I love you. There's way too much for me to write and describe in words how much I do, but I know you know. Everything that I am is mostly because of you and your support. All I want is for you to keep smiling. You know you have the most luscious lips I sadly didn't get

Weight-A-Minute

When asked what you would like to achieve with your exercise, the answer is most likely to be "lose weight" and "tone up". Everybody wants a tight and toned body. Especially in the mid-section. You have a good idea of what a toned body looks like. Jessica Alba. Carmen Electra. Giselle Bundchen. That is a toned-body. Toned suggested a distinctive firmness in all the places that matter and which give balance to your body shape.
Traditionally, when we think about reshaping the body, we think of fat-burning cardiovascular exercise but focusing on cardio alone will only help you to lose bodyfat. Running will NOT help you to tone up. Without proper toning exercise, you will only end up with lose or flabby skin, which makes even the most fit person look a little out of condition.
If you want a sexy and toned beach body, the only way you can achieve it is by training with weights like dumbbells & weight machines.
This is what we call weight-training. Now, I know the first image that's probably in your mind right now is popping veins and bulging muscles like the Governor of California but to obtain those bulky muscles, you literally have a spend hours in the gym. The level of strength training required for general good health will not produce bulk in women.
If you are worried about weight gain as a side effect of weight training, you should know that regularly incorporating strength training into your exercise regimen will actually help you control your weight. It is likely that you gain a few pounds once you begin strength training but bear in mind that muscle is more dense than fat and this means that while muscle may weigh more, it takes up less space.
Muscle tissue is metabolically active, unlike fat tissue. This means that even at rest, muscle tissue is burning calories. And of course, you will burn more calories if you have more muscle than fat percentage in your body.
