"Only 500 Calories A Day Was All We Ate…"

Remember the Cheeky Song?

"We are the Cheeky Girls, we are the Cheeky Girls, you are the cheeky boy, you are the cheeky boy..."

In 2002,  26-year-old twins - Monica and Gabriela Irimia partnered together and named themselves the Cheeky Girls. They made their debut with "Cheeky Song (Touch My Bum)".

It was only after they were being signed to a record label that their lifestyle gradually started to change their diet and bodies.

'We had been quietly studying law but suddenly having a hit record meant we were always touring, recording, going to meetings and making personal appearances. Our lives were out of our control,' says Monica.

Then, in 2003, their record company Telstar went bankrupt, owing them £1.3million. The girls became incredibly depressed - and took out their frustrations on their own bodies.

'We'd always loved running, it helped us relax,' says Monica, 'but it became more of a quick fix to make us feel better. We ran for longer periods, maybe an hour instead of 30 minutes, twice a day.'

It was Monica who first developed anorexia nervosa.

'I developed an obsession for going into supermarkets to count calories on food packets. I'd stare at the fat, protein and salt content and memorise them.

'The foods I chose were mainly chocolate, cakes and ice cream. I loved pistachio nuts, but when I saw that there were 650 calories in one tiny pack I didn't put even one nut in my mouth for a year-and-a-half.

'I would walk round for an hour then buy two apples and a carrot.'

Too Fat To Fly

overweight-passenger

Reports about a woman who was refused to board a plane because she was "too fat" were fake.

Newspaper La Repubblica reported Anna Delluci was suing budget airline EasyJet after the check-in flight told her she would have to buy two tickets.

The newspaper said before the Bari to Rome flight, the 55-year-old Ms Delluci was told to step on to scales in front of other surprised passengers - which she refused.

"I'm sorry, but you're too fat, and if you want to fly with us, you have to buy two tickets," check-in were alleged to have told the 98kg passenger.

But a day after the report surfaces, EasyJet confirmed the story was a hoax.

The airline said following an investigation they discovered the incident did not in fact occur and was a hoax story reported to the media by  member of the public.

"EasyJet's policy regarding larger passengers is to recommend that if they feel they will need more than one seat, to purchase one," the airline said in a statement.

"However we do not require them to do so this is a recommendation for their own comfort."

While this story was reported to be a hoax, a true incident has happened before where a "Man was forced to buy an extra seat on Southwest flight".

“And the lady stops and says, ‘Sir, you need to have another ticket.’ And I said what for and she said, ‘because of your size.

While some may think it's not right to discriminate against fat people or humiliate them this way, is it wrong or selfish of others to say that it is only fair?

I have to pay extra for an 'overweight' luggage  all the time when I travel overseas (even if it's a mere 10kg over the limit) while other o v e r w e i g h t passengers get on the flight without a hitch.

Being overweight is a choice, it is never just a disability one has to live with.

If you spend extra money on upsizing your meal and buying food in bulk, why should you feel outraged by the fact that you also need to upsize your flight seat?

B i g g e r is better, isn't it?

Black dress from YesStyle.com

FOR OVER 40 YEARS, Mario Badescu Skin Care has been known for personalized skin care treatments and products. They offer spa and skin care services not just tocelebrities, but to individuals across the world who appreciate the importance of quality skin care. Their proven line of products helps thousands of people today fight acne, treat rosacea, cure teen acne, and help with aging skin.

Last week, I attended a workshop at ONLYAESTHETICS and received a trial facial treatment using MB (Mario Badescu) products which proved why Hollywood celebrities are RAVING about this skin care line.

I've had a traumatic experience with the first facial I went to in Bali, when the steamer they used for my face over-heated and caused the boiling water to splash near my face! It left a brown spot on my right cheek but is unnoticeable with make-up.

Anyway, I was really glad that the facial I was getting at ONLYAesthetics did not involve any boiling water or steam. The esthetician told me exactly which products from MB that she was going to use and why they are suitable for my skin. After making sure all my make-up was removed, she started off with a facial massage. It was so relaxing that I snoozed right after she applied the mask and dimmed the lights.

At the end of the facial treatment, my skin felt more refreshed, supple and noticeably healthier after the facial and I didn't think I even needed to use any foundation.

Here are a few of the products they used on me:

flower-tonic-mask

This is a combination purifying and calming mask for congested, bumpy or slightly oily skin types. The Kaolin based formula absorbs dirt and oil from pores while the soothing, botanical Balsam Peru ingredient soothes minor redness and irritation.

I like the pleasant, floral scent. Easy to rinse off and skin feels soft, supple and moisturized almost immediately.

★★★★★ I like the pleasant, floral scent. Easy to rinse off and skin feels soft, supple and moisturized almost immediately.
enzyme-cleansing-gel

This refreshing, non foaming gel washes away make-up and surface debris, leaving skin clean and healthy without any residue.  Rejuvenates dull skin with Alpha Hydroxy Acid by breaking down the build up of dead skin cells that cause blackheads and pimples.

☆☆ I love that it is non-foaming because it does not dry the skin. Washing your face with regular facial wash too often may cause your skin to produce more oil and sebum which can lead to breakouts and acne.

alpha-grapefruit-cleansing-lotionThis mild, citrus-based Alpha Grapefruit Cleansing Lotion refreshes and exfoliates to leave skin looking healthy.  Soothing Aloe Calms sensitive areas while Seaweed Extract nourishes dull, dry skin.

It's light & refreshing. While some toners leaves you with a dry, tight feeling on your face, this one doesn't.

control-cream

Mario Badescu's famous anti-redness cream that works best for red, rashy, flaky and irritated skin types and Rosacea sufferers. Balsam Peru is the active, soothing botanical ingredient that will make a visible difference immediately upon application. Non-greasy, low oil formula. May be used for troubled areas of the face or in place of a moisturizer. Works well with our Azulene Calming Mask.

★★★★☆ Soothing and non-greasy, takes total control of my skin - balancing & minimizing the oiliness on my T-zone and the rest of my face.

If You're On A Diet…

Today’s Diet Tip

Quicktip: Think about what you can add to your diet, not what you should take away.

When in comes to dieting, most people instantly think about the foods they should cut down on or take away.

Many of whom end up binge eating and it is obvious why this "diet plan" doesn't work - when you are deprived of your favorite foods, over-eating is only a spoonful away.

A better approach to start a healthier lifestyle is to think about the foods you can ADD to your diet.

Include more fruits & vegetables to your plate. Not only will you feel more full, you are meeting your fiber goals which helps prevent constipation. You're also less likely to overeat because fruits and vegetables displace fat in the diet.

About Vitamins, Minerals & What Your Body REALLY Needs

You cannot stop eating, take vitamins and expect to be healthy.

Vitamins are not replacements for food. By themselves, they have NO calories. Vitamins are not substitutes for protein, fats, minerals, carbohydrates or other nutrients. You cannot stop eating, take vitamins and expect to be healthy. So why can't we just depend on the vitamins and minerals we get from our food? The answer is obvious in your food packaging. High processed, pasteurized, homogenized, canned, prepackaged fast food means less chance of natural occurring vitamins surviving for any length of time. Thus, another reason to choose organic foods.

But why would you spend extra money on organic fruits and vegetables when you can buy the nonorganic that costs heaps less and lasts much longer? Think about it: There are over 6 BILLION people in the world - that means a huge demand in food which makes the food industry one of the most lucrative enterprise in the world. Money-making businesses = Quality control by the government. Hence, subsidies from the government are paid mainly to farmers with non-organic farms allowing them to keep their prices low (watch 'Food Inc.' if this topic interests you). The longer the fruits and vegetables are off the vines, the faster they begin to lose their nutritional value, losing vitamins during processing and shipping. As a result, he nonorganic food you consume comprise of only a fraction of the vitamins it should provide.

If you are iffy about popping vitamin pills but want to make sure you are providing your body with vitamins, minerals and other nutrients, my personal advice would be to start shopping for organic.

Reason Being…

We spend our whole lives telling ourselves everything happens for a reason. When in reality, it's just that we give reason for everything that happens.
