Sony TX7: A quality camera to capture every quality moment

The 25mm wide angle Carl Zeiss® Vario-Tessar lens and a super sleek, slim body makes the Sony Cyber-shot TX7 camera the perfect camera for group photos and lone travellers who prefer to take self-portraits. (Fellow bloggers, take note. You know who you are!)

With the useful, 4x Optical Zoom, you can zoom out and capture more in every shot or accurately zoom in on the details from a distance and produce accurately detailed and realistic photos with excellent contrast.

Here's the first photo I took with my Sony Cyber-shot TX7:

Excellent photo quality with a well-balanced contrast and a highly rich, saturated colors. After seeing this photo, I remember thinking to myself "What. An. Amazing camera. It's perfect for me because I love taking self-portraits!"

At blazing speed, the BIONZ Image Processing Engine drastically lowers noise level and achieves high accuracy in auto-focusing, exposure auto-correction and auto white balancing. The Dynamic Range Optimiser (DRO) instinctively analyses the composition, optimising exposure and contrast, to create a more natural and vibrant image in different shooting environments.
This camera does not only look sleek and beautiful, it takes gorgeous photos, even with low-lighting conditions.

Night scene taken without a flash:

For a camera that is only about the size of a Chanel foundation compact powder (under an inch thin), this baby packs a punch for being able to produce clean and higher definition images with less noise, even when shooting in dark environments such as night scenes.

Night scene taken with flash:

This is the result of the 10.2 Mega Pixels “Exmor R” CMOS Sensor - Sony’s revolutionary 1/2.4-type “Exmor R” CMOS sensor that features a back-illuminated design that maximises and efficiently utilises the amount of light received, making it twice as sensitive as conventional CMOS sensors.

Capture perfect shots anytime anywhere even when taking twilight shots!

I am no professional photographer but how sweet is this photo? It's good enough to say photography is a hobby :P

Even when taking a picture at a high ISO setting or without using a tripod (like if you have shaky hands like me, you still enjoy cleaner, sharper images with Handheld Twilight.

Picture-perfect self-portraits.

High Quality Prints of Your Favorite Photos

Original photo (left) is 3648px by 2736px - good enough to print a high-quality A3 sized poster! On the right shows the full photo quality zoomed in at 100%.

The feature that impressed me the most was the Intelligent Sweep Panorama™.

It captures wide landscapes or tall buildings in one easy “press and sweep” motion. With the “Exmor R” CMOS sensor technology, they can take up to 270 and 258-degree panorama shots, respectively, horizontally or vertically with an image size of 7,152px by 1,080px (horizontal wide panorama mode).

Amazing! Simple and easy. Just "press and sweep" (like taking a video). No need for Photoshop to stitch the photos together! Useful for travelers who enjoy taking panoramic shots of landscapes and other surroundings.

The world’s smallest and thinnest AVCHD capable camera.

This is the first time I've used a HD camera and I am blown away by the video quality! I've always thought I needed to get a hand-held camcorder to capture HD videos such as this. No need to get one of those bulky gadgets anymore.

Of course, I had to convert the files from .mts to .mov to upload it to the internet. However, you can easily view the original HD videos with VLC player and use Voltaic (if you're on a mac) to convert the files.

It's so easy to switch from photo to movie mode. Simply select the Movie icon located on the Touch Screen or press the photo/movie button to instantly switch between photo and movie settings and it will start recording instantaneously.

Taken at sunset:

I love taking photos at sunset when the sun's not too bright. I like how the photo is not too 'orangey' and the sky is perfect blue.

VERDICT: At first, I was very skeptical about using a touch-screen camera as I figured it would take some getting used to but the Sony Cyber-shot TX7's touch screen was so user-friendly and it wouldn't take a genius to figure out how to navigate the camera. Switching from one mode to another was a breeze and you can easily scroll through images by flicking on the display (like scrolling through photos on the iPhone).

Overall, this is what I love most about the Sony Cyber-shot TX7:

- its sleek and slim body fits perfectly in my tiny purse

- the wide angle lens makes it more fun to take self-portraits as it also capture your background

- ALL my friends, including myself, were impressed by the Intelligent Sweep Panorama™ feature. Convenient to use and stitches photos seamlessly.

- the high-quality of the HD video recording

- the colors of the photos are rich and saturated

- you don't need super steady hands to take photos without a flash and the night mode takes excellent shots

- scrolling through the photos is easy and convenient.

A quality camera to capture every quality moment.
