Stay Slim & Maintain Your Curves Like…

Not all of us are as lucky as Christian Milian. She's got TALENT and she sings it out to us with 't' & 'a'. A number of readers have emailed me asking how to lose weight without losing their butt or shrinking a cup size. I hate to say this but it's all about proportion and there is NO WAY that you can do that.  There is just no such thing as spot reduction.

Sure, you may have seen busty celebrities with a skinny waist and a tight booty to boot but the reality is, while some are genetic others depend solely on cosmetic surgery. I'd like to think that Milian is just blessed. But as you can see, she works hard to maintain her figure.

For some of my favorite legs and butt exercises, wait for my next post!

The 5 Stages of Female Drunkenness

You've read the 5 Stages of The Male Drunkenness, now it's time to spot the The 5 Stages of The Female Drunkenness.

Stage 1: UptightI'm sorry, were you talking to me? I didn't know asses could talk.

She's hot. She thinks she is at least. She also thinks that every guy in the club wants to talk to her and take her home. This is probably true. Take up the challenge or approach with caution, she might bruise your ego and, or, become a total waste of time.

Stage 2: OpenSo what do you do?

So she's had a drink or two and loosened up a bit. She's open to what you have to say to her or about yourself. Depending on her character and personality, this could be the start of a good night.

Stage 3: ImpressedWhat's brown and sticky? A stick?! I would never have guessed that one!

She's easily impressed by whatever you tell her. She even found your lame jokes to be extremely hilarious. Instead of being offended, she laughed when you asked if she'd go home with you because she's obviously thinking about it.

Stage 4: DopeyDid you just mention that you were in jail?

The music is getting louder in her head and she's had enough to drink. She's not even listening to you anymore, and for you, that's great news because you're going to trick her into getting in the car with you and try out your brand new, oh-so-comfortable bed.

Stage 5: GonerZzz.... *burp* zzz...

Should've tapped out at Stage 4. Let's hope she still has friends who can take care of her.

My First Brazilian IPL Experience…

2 July 2010 — I can't stand body hair. I've spent a ridiculous amount of money on IPL for my underarms, shaving and waxing other parts of my body (i.e. legs, arms, bikini... I even shave those tiny little toe/finger hair).

After trying out IPL on my underarms last year and getting satisfactory results at such an high expense, I was a little skeptical about doing Brazilian IPL. But since I've tried Brazilian waxing, I figured I might as well give it a go and share the experience.

Hawaiian Spa (by Fabulous Group) is located at 9 Tan Quee Lan street, #01-04 TQL Suites.  It is just opposite Bugis Junction (across the road from Mcdonalds & Starbucks), on the same street as the Apple Strudel Store.

It was my first visit to Hawaiian Spa but I do go to FabulousTan (under the same company) at Cineleisure occasionally to even out my tan and cover up the unsightly stretchmarks when I have an upcoming shoot.

They provide services such as indoor tanning, IPL treatments, waxing, teeth whitening, spas and even hair extensions! I really like to decor — it's like a spa by the beach!

One of the tanning rooms. Doesn't it look like it's in a little hut by the beach because of the blue sky? Actually, the place has a pretty high ceiling and the blue sky is actually the color of the wall on the other side of the room!

And that's how you get a fabulous tan ;) Truth be told, I haven't done indoor tanning in months... this is the result of running outdoors. Wait until you see the hideous tanlines! :(

And this is where it all takes place. My therapist was a very nice and friendly Filipina. Somehow I felt more comfortable with her because Charles is half Filipino so we were talking about the Philippines the whole time. It helps if you can hold a conversation with your therapist to ease off the tension and nervousness!

For safety purposes, I was asked to remove anything metallic, including my accessories and belly-button ring - something I was never asked to do when I went for IPL on my underarms at STRIP.

I was pretty shy at first because of the little 'bush' I had grown down there and it didn't help when my therapist used an electronic razor to trim the bits because I started giggling like a little girl! It took me a while to get used to the 'vibration' of the electronic razor. It wasn't easy! The whole time I thought to myself, "Please don't get turned on!" Awkward. Just a tad.

I wonder why they didn't use a normal disposal shaver instead. Wouldn't that be more hygienic?

It used to be that IPL was only suitable for those with dark hair and light skin but not anymore. The machine used for IPL treatment here uses a new technology that distinguishes dark hair and dark skin types. The first setting that my therapist used was a little painful (like a quick, sharp pain) but she finally adjusted the settings so the pain was  minimal and I barely felt anything.

It took about 25 minutes for the whole session (a much shorter time than Brazilian waxing... and less painful).

I didn't shave or wax for 2 weeks before going for the Brazilian IPL and personally I found it to be a real torture. I can't stand hair down there. The hair grew back so fast and by the end of 2 weeks, I had a full-grown bush. I don't know how some Japanese girls live with that. I could never!

Since I won't be taking any photos of my bits and pieces for censorship purposes, I've done up a simple illustration to show you a quick 'visual'. You are advised not to wax or shave after your first IPL session especially if you plan on going for more. This is so that the hair can grow out and 'fall off' on its own (yes, literally — you will soon be bald down there!). Shaving or waxing will interfere with the process.

As you can see, my hair-down-there was a lot thicker and more bushy when I let it grow out 2 weeks before going for a Brazilian IPL. After, the hair grew out almost the same, except less coarse.

I'd have to admit that I cheated and shaved 1 week after my first IPL session. I know I wasn't supposed to but I was not used to it at all and it became quite uncomfortable.

To my surprise, a few days after I shaved, the hair grew back more fine and sparse (refer to the illustration). It may look a little weird but it is a lot better now than how it was during the first week after the IPL, or let alone before the IPL!

I am liking the results already. My 2nd session is due this Friday (which is exactly 3 weeks after my 1st). It is recommended that you do a follow-up of your next session within 3 - 4 weeks after each IPL session for optimum results.

If you're interested in doing a trial session, you can enjoy this offer for being a loyal reader at withlovefay.com simply by making your appointment via sms by texting <Hawaii><fay><yourname> to 8221 9221.

Permanent Underarm IPL --> $35 (current 1st time trial price is $48) (U.P. is $188)
Permanent Brazilian IPL  - $125 (current 1st time trial price is $148) (U.P. is $338)

Do share with me YOUR experience!

UPDATE: I just found that they have a branch (for indoor tanning, waxing, teeth whitening, hair extensions and make-up only) in KL at Mid-Valley! That's only about 10 minutes away from my place in KL... perfect! Check it out:

Candwich: Sandwich In A Can!

From the latest in canned food technology, comes Candwich - The Sandwich In A Can! Pop the top and it's ready to eat!

How great is this? Now, you can survive in a bomb shelter because Candwich has a long shelf-life that is perfect for emergency food storage in case of a natural disaster! What exactly is that bread made out of?

I can't decide what's more unfortunate - the fact that there are people (aka busy-moms) who find it hard to make a simple 3-ingredient sandwich or the fact that there are people whose lives will depend solely on Candwich. What's next? Canned pizza?

The Carl’s Jr. Footlong Cheeseburger: A Heart Attack Is In Order

Carl's Jr. (or Hardee's as it's called in the south) came up with the perfect recipe for instant weight gain and a heart attack - The Footlong Cheeseburger. That's exactly what America needs, more enriched flour.

A cheeseburger sold as a foot-long sandwich, with three burgers and three cheese slices, is being tested at 50 Carl's Jr. taurants in Southern California and 50 Hardee's units in Indiana. If it's a hit in testing, it could be sold at all Carl's and Hardee's — sister chains in different regions of the country — within three to six months.

I wonder why they didn't make it a three-patty burger and call it The Footlong Threesome? That would've added 'plus' points... I'm talking about your weight.

If this sandwich makes it to Asia, you can thank the Americans for their continued support in making this world a fatter place.

The sandwich has 850 calories with 20 grams of saturated fat. If you're not sure what that could do to your body, here's an idea:

Sexy.

Would you like fries and a coke with that, fatty?

My New Favorite Dress

Went for dinner at Alexis yesterday, in The Gardens (KL) and partied a little bit at G6 - nothing crazy, just consumed a lot of whiskey and water. I paid for it at the gym today, so I don't feel bad about those mini wantons and roasted duck I had, they were delicious, by the way. Alexis Restaurant reminded me of PS Cafe a little bit - but much better.

The Gardens Mall  is like Paragon but bigger, and better. In fact, I honestly think there's a bigger variety when it comes to shopping in KL compared to Singapore. I've never seen a Roxy store as big as the one at Pavilion and hell ~ it's not just shopping, but there's Baskin-Robbins at almost every mall!

I haven't had any Baskin-Robbins or tried Papa Johns yet, but maybe I will on one of my cheat meals. I even resisted the free donuts at Krispy Kreme yesterday. (FYI: From July 13-16th, buy 1 dozen and get half dozen chocolate or vanilla cake FREE at Krispy Kreme!) My advice: Resist it or limit to 1 and tell 'em you'd rather waste it than waist it. As good as it looks, don't eat more than 1 of them tasty little buggers!

Anyway, all the resistance (and resistance training), cardio, low-carbs and weight-training have been doing good... I've lost 4kg! Hooray! I intend to lose another 1-2kgs to get back in the shaped and safe zone.

P.S.: Dear KL-ers, Anyone know of a good water purifier to recommend/suggest? - Either a manual (one where you'd have to manually add water yourself) or an automatic (one that is attached to the pipe).

(Dress from YesStyle, and I am wearing a size 66.)
