Do you remember as a kid that first moment of discovery as you encountered something new? Do you remember that first flush of excitement as the thrill of exploration over took you and you headed off to have an adventure? I remember having that fearless spirit. I remember the excitement and thrill of exploring new things.
In some ways I still have that fearless spirit. It may slumber inside me, but on occasion I still feel the childlike anticipation that craves an adventure. A part of me that wants to go off exploring new places as if the world was one giant treasure hunt. Despite the cautiousness that has grown in me over time, I would love nothing more than to recapture that zest.
To reconnect with that joyous sense of freedom that would go running through a new building wondering what I would find just around the corner. Life is like that unexplored building. You can run towards it not knowing what you will find ahead and delight in the discovery or you can sit back with caution... and miss out on the thrill.
