Some May Updates…

Some May updates!

In Singapore for the Audi Fashion Week Festival

FILTER Members Club.

My homes, Judd.

A relaxing Sunday at Sentosa Cove...

No marinate/seasoning. Just REALLY GOOD meat. Good protein! I actually didn't even feel fat the next day...

Everyone I know seem to have this camera so I blinged out mine... Quite subtle this time, yes?

A sandwich vending machine... at a hospital? Come on.

At the ADIDAS store. A treadmill so you can tryout your new potential running kicks.

Grocery shopping...

Stefanie's birthday at The Hill (KL)

A crappy stick figure drawing Charles drew with 'NUGGETS!' as the caption. I replaced it with 'LET'S WORK OUT!' Much better.

Standard Chartered Fun Run 2011

The day started early as I ran the Standard Chartered Fun Run 2011 held at Putrajaya earlier today. It was really nice out there, away from the city where there aren't many tall buildings. Weather was fantastic and the turn-out was massive! I had to be up at 5am to drive because it took an hour to drive there but it was so worth it.

Outside Pullman Putrajaya Hotel waiting for the shuttle bus. Beautiful sky. I love how there are barely any tall buildings in this area!

3km? Easy-peasy! Helen was so worried she would tire out but she made it to the finish line! I'm so proud of you, gurl.

Got 2nd place under the 'Celebrity Run' category. Yay me!

Police patrol on horses! Haven't seen that since Key West. I miss horseback riding!

Coming up: My thoughts on the new Adidas CC ClimaCool Ride running shoes.

Taco Tuesday

Went out for some fish tacos at Frontera. A pretty decent Mexican spot in KL I would say, 2nd best to Las Carretas, although nothing beats the real deal. Really looking forward to visiting SF with Charles later this year. He said he'd take me to the best Mexican joint in the Bay area so we'll see about that...

Chips & salsa - ★★✩✩✩

Fish tacos - ★★★✩✩

Beef burrito - ★★★★✩

Overall I'd give it a 3.5 out of 5 stars. I wasn't satisfied with the fish taco. As you can see there was way too much cheese. Where's the onion, salsa and guac? Now the beef burrito however... was pretty tasty. A lil spicy... but good.

Got me a new pair of headphones from Adidas because my old Audio-Technica ones broke. It lasted 2 years anyway.

Adidas head to toe... (Except for the shades, got them at Vans)

I'm still thinking about getting the Jaybird wireless headphones though, saw one at the Apple store and the girl rocking a set made it look pretty hot.

USD99 a pop (...the headphones that is)

The trouble with wireless is when you forget to charge it, and I'm quite forgetful when it comes to these things. Anyone own a pair?

P.S.: Happy Vesak Day to all Buddhists :)

More Reason To Get Off That Couch: Sitting Is Killing You

Gotta love these infographics. I can totally see how sitting can make you fat. The more you sit, the more you hate to stand. The question is, how does Professor X from X-Men get his exercise? From using his mind?

I'm surprised that it's more proper to sit at a 135° than 90° though. Would have to make that more of a habit. This calls for a pimp, new office chair.

Sweet Retreat: Saufiville

I just heard JJ & Ean's awesome parody of Rebecca Black's 'Friday'. Its called 'Monday'. Give it a listen if you need a little Monday pick-me-up!

In other news, I had a pretty relaxing weekend although I'm starting to feel a bit under of the weather since last night. A few of my friends and I made a roadtrip to Pahang for a mini getaway. Somewhere in Janda Baik, way up the hill, there's a resort called Saufiville... Amazing!

Welcome to Saufiville. Your sweet escape.

Scenic views. Almost like a huge canvas painting.

Felt like Bali! And this place is only an hour away from KL City. Can you believe that? It was Jeanette's birthday so she organized this little trip for everyone. Good job, JT!

Need to getaway from the city?

Check out their Facebook fanpage if you want to find out more about the place.

Boys being boys.

I absolutely loved the view. We spent most of our time hanging out at the balcony and the pool, soaking up the sun.

JT + Joao vs Charles + me. We won! :P

Ian doing a bit of research on the dozen of scarabs at the villa. No bugs were harms during this experimentation.

Dozens of these buggers flying around...

Hubba hubba

A toga-themed birthday party! All the guys dressed up... Some brought a white cloth, others used white towels. Guess who?

DINNER!

Yummy in the tummy! Want abs? Avoid processed meats and go for the real deal... BBQ-style!

The food was EXCELLENT! They served BBQ chicken wings, steak, lamb shanks and crispy fish... The sauces were all home-made and hella good too. The seafood aglio olio ran out FAST. Almost everyone opted for pasta instead of fried rice. It was so good that we ordered the pasta again for lunch the next day!

Yes, Charles wore a towel... Toga-fail! :P

And what's a birthday party without a birthday cake? Mmm... Digestives crust - my favorite!

Breakfast/lunch the next morning before we bounced.

We left the day at around 5pm and drove back to KL. A 45-minute drive because there was no traffic. A blissfully relaxing weekend in Pahang yet so near to the city. Back to the grind...

The Skinny Girl In Me…

TGIF! Spending a week in Singapore for some QT with the family. Mom's birthday this Sunday, can't wait for a feast!

Meanwhile this was exactly how I felt yesterday. But instead of cupcakes, I had a couple of fried chicken with whipped potatoes.

Black Circuit Lounge Invites

My invite to the Johnnie Walker Black Circuit Lounge in KL this Saturday arrived this morning!

Female attendees get a necklace, while the boys get a cool money clip.

The idea of a necklace as an invite for the ladies came after I made use the Johnnie Walker badge and turned it into a pendant.

^ I do a little bit of jewelry design during my free time so I used some of my tools to create a bunch of 'Johnnie Walker accessories'. So far there's a JW Blackberry cover, JW earrings, and of course, the necklace, which is now the official invite.

Charles designed the money clip which I think is pretty sweet too. And just for the record, as much as I love the brand, I don't work for Johnnie Walker. Charles does!

This Saturday's party is gonna be off the chain. There's a huge line-up of international and local DJs spinning at the party. I'm looking forward to DJ Bento (Japan) and DJ Sophia Lin (USA) because I recommended them both for this event. There's also DJ I-Tek coming from Hong Kong and Malaysian talent, DJ Faith.

For those attending the party (especially my Singapore crew!), bring on your A-game and prepare to have a sick time ;)

Jimmy Eat World Concert in Singapore

I was in Singapore last weekend to catch the Jimmy Eat World concert at Hard Rock Hotel.

There's a first time for everything and so this was my first time ever going to a concert. I know, shocking. But I've been saving the experience for my most favorite band. It means the world to me that Charles bought me the ticket because he wanted to be responsible for crossing out 'Watch Jimmy Eat World Concert' from my bucket list. Sweetness.

The crowd in the photo below actually looks a lot bigger than it actually was. I'm not complaining. I didn't get to stand in the front and center of the stage but I was close enough. I'd say there were probably only about less than 1000 fans who attended the concert which isn't surprising considering how underrated this band is...

Photo taken from Jimmy Eat World's Twitpic page

I was so amazed by the band's energy and how good they sounded live. To say they were simply amazing is an understatement. They showcased an epic, epic performance.

Alyssa, myself, Charles & Adam.

There was no opening act for their concert so they started playing right on time at 8pm exactly. They opened with 'Bleed American' which I think was totally the perfect track to kick off their performance.

Charles asked to play our favorite song, '23' on J.E.W.'s Facebook fanpage which I think they must've played according to our request because they mentioned "This is a request..." right before they started playing. I didn't see anyone else request for that song on their page so it really must have been!

This was taken while '23' was playing... ♥
