The Skinny Girl In Me…
TGIF! Spending a week in Singapore for some QT with the family. Mom's birthday this Sunday, can't wait for a feast!
Meanwhile this was exactly how I felt yesterday. But instead of cupcakes, I had a couple of fried chicken with whipped potatoes.

Black Circuit Lounge Invites
My invite to the Johnnie Walker Black Circuit Lounge in KL this Saturday was finally delivered to my doorstep!

^ Female attendees get a necklace, while the boys get a cool money clip.
^ The idea of a necklace as an invite for the ladies came after I made use the Johnnie Walker badge and turned it into a pendant.
^ I do a little bit of jewelry design during my free time so I used some of my tools to create a bunch of 'Johnnie Walker accessories'. So far there's a JW Blackberry cover, JW earrings, and of course, the necklace, which is now the official invite. Charles designed the money clip which I think is pretty sweet too. And just for the record, as much as I love the brand, I don't work for Johnnie Walker. Charles does!

This Saturday's party is going to off the chain. There's a huge line-up of international and local DJs spinning at the party. I'm looking forward to DJ Bento (Japan) and DJ Sophia Lin (USA) because I recommended them both for this event. There's also DJ I-Tek coming from Hong Kong and Malaysian talent, DJ Faith.
For those attending the party (especially my Singapore crew!), bring on your A-game and prepare to have a sick time
Jimmy Eat World Concert in Singapore
I was in Singapore last weekend to catch the Jimmy Eat World concert at Hard Rock Hotel.
There's a first time for everything and so this was my first time ever going to a concert. I know, shocking. But I've been saving the experience for my most favorite band. It means the world to me that Charles bought me the ticket because he wanted to be responsible for crossing out 'Watch Jimmy Eat World Concert' from my bucket list. Sweetness.

The crowd in the photo below actually looks a lot bigger than it actually was. I'm not complaining. I didn't get to stand in the front and center of the stage but I was close enough. I'd say there were probably only about less than 1000 fans who attended the concert which isn't surprising considering how underrated this band is...

I was so amazed by the band's energy and how good they sounded live. To say they were simply amazing is an understatement. They showcased an epic, epic performance.

- Jim Adkins - Lead singer of Jimmy Eat World

- Alyssa, myself, Charles & Adam.
There was no opening act for their concert so they started playing right on time at 8pm exactly. They opened with 'Bleed American' which I think was totally the perfect track to kick off their performance.

Charles asked to play our favorite song, '23' on J.E.W.'s Facebook fanpage which I think they must've played according to our request because they mentioned "This is a request..." right before they started playing. I didn't see anyone else request for that song on their page so it really must have been!

I was in Singapore for a few days last week to see my friends and visit my grandfather at the hospital. He was admitted on Tuesday because he suffered a stroke due to a blood clot in his brain. The doctor said at first that if his condition didn't improve, he'd only have 1 week to live. All my relatives came down to see him, including my sister who lives in Japan. It was pretty much like a family reunion, everyone was there to show him their support. I was nice to see the whole family.
When I saw my grandy, the right half of his body was paralyzed and he could barely talk. I could see the pain in his eyes and it was heartbreaking to watch. But on Friday, he was able to lift his right arm and move his legs. His condition was vastly improving. By Saturday, he did therapy and he managed to get up by himself and walk. It was amazing to see how fast he was improving and how strong he is. I am so proud of him.
I left for KL the next day with a piece of mind, confident that he'll get better. I'll be going back to see him again in a week so I really hope he'll be discharged from the hospital by then.

Decided to get a tan this morning, it's been about a year since I got my tan on. Blame on the fact that modeling/talent agencies kept insisting that I stay away from the sun and try to stay fair. Asia.

So I was at the pool for 2 hours earlier and boy, had I forgotten how easily I tan! I've got 3 shades of color on my butt because I forgot to properly adjust my bikini bottom... God, I hate tanlines. And now for an update from my Blackberry camera...

Earlier today... Hawaiian Tropic tanning lotion is awesome.

Gym at the rooftop of my apartment...

I took the LRT from KL Sentral the other day for the first time!

Strangely, the cabins were pretty empty on a Tuesday at around 9.30am. I guess more people take the monorail.

Copped another one of Charles's protein bar. This one's pretty yummy. Good to carry around if you're going to be busy all day and need a meal replacement.

This is what I usually use for cooking pasta...

Pretty good wine! Very nice for a chill night-in.

Ribena with longan. A sweet treat! Albeit too sweet for my liking...

Saw 'BJ Saloon' as I was driving around town. Sounds pretty dodgy, no?
2 Things I Find Hard To Refuse…
1. Sarawak Laksa from a hawker in Bangsar
2. Pick-n-mix candies!
...but only when I deserve it the most. A treat is a treat because you don't have it all the time!
So I haven't been watching my food intake carefully last week and gained 5lbs in a blink of an eye. Meh. Aunt Flo might be a contributing factor to the sudden weight gain (mostly water retention). For some reason, I feel like this is a dejavu because I'm pretty sure I've whined about a similar situation every other month.
I envisioned myself working out on the elliptical machine for 45 minutes last night (yes, I think about what I'm going to do the next day before I go to bed) but today I'm really not feelin' it so I'm very likely to skip the gym.
Feeling moody and really wished I had a pick-n-mix. Instead, I just had a handful of baked almonds and a huge bottle of water. Nothing much to complain about, at least I don't feel guilty about it as I would after finishing a bag of candies.
Stay stoked and motivated, guys. If you're not hitting the gym today like me, make sure you're at least eating healthy.
