How I Celebrated Christmas & New Year’s Eve In 2011…
I'm so happy that I got to celebrate Christmas and New Year's with that special someone for the first time this year. He's usually back in Hong Kong to visit his family but he's postponed the trip until mid-Jan instead. We also planned a huge Bali trip with a bunch of friends after New Year so that's already a lot of traveling for the busy man at work.
So so proud of what he's doing, in fact, 2011 has been a great year for both us. If you asked me last year where I think I'd be in 2012, Kuala Lumpur will probably not be my first answer. But I've met some truly amazing friends here and opportunities seem to keep opening doors to endless possibilities that it has made my time here incredibly memorable. Looks like I'll be sticking around...
I'm grateful and feel blessed to have met so many genuine people here - Sarah, the hitz.fm crew (JJ, Ean, Ray, Moots...), Josiah, Natacha, Cay, Julie, Patricia, Jeanette, Helen, Henry, Hansen, Kym and Dawn, just to name a few. The list goes on... You know who you are!

Been looking everywhere for this! My baby finally got it for me for Christmas. Someone on Facebook commented on this photo and said "That's an ugly purse." Hahaha! Well, he DID also get me a nice Coach handbag.

My home workout station is complete!

He also got me a subscription to Muscle & Fitness HERS. Blessed! Remember, knowledge is key! The more you know about nutrition and fitness, the more motivated you are to be healthy.

A Christmas present I got for myself (amongst other not-so important things)... A GYMBOSS TIMER! Perfect for High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) which I should definitely do more of.

Stocking up on supplements from Maxitone and Maximuscle. These are some of the products I've tried and really liked. 2012 is off to a FIT START! Will review them for you soon.

Hosted one of biggest NYE countdown events in KL with Joey G at The Curve. More than 15,000 people came to celebrate to watch the live performances and of course, the AMAZING fireworks!
The event also got HUGE press coverage! Read about it here.

CreativeHome December Issue: Get Prim & Proper With Me
Hey guys! So I've shared a number of health & fitness tips to help you get trim and tighter through this blog and various magazine articles...
This time, CreativeHome gave me a chance to share something different - my home living habits! A clean home = a healthier, junk-free lifestyle.
Check out their 1st revamped (December) issue now

If you don't see me at the gym, I'm either at home or the supermarket!
Some behind-the-scene photos...

Wearing Leann Maxima & Paul Smith

Kinda sad but true: "When I was younger, I enjoyed cleaning the house more than playing with Barbie."

Shooting the cover

Getting the right pose can get a bit frustrating at times... Sometimes I just want to give up!

Guess who ordered that mango yogurt drink?
Esquire Girl – Christmas issue

DANGER: HIGH VOLTAGE.

What's in your Christmas bag?

Christmas colors!

Are you getting in the Christmas mood? Honestly, how many times this past week have you told yourself "This is an early Christmas present for myself..."? I'm guilty as charged. Recently splurged on a travel make-up brush set from Bobbi Brown and a couple of bandage dresses. Not too much yet but I know its coming.
Charles' birthday is coming up in about 2 weeks so I'm pretty excited about that too! I'll also be hosting this huge countdown party in KL on New Years Eve before I take a week off in Bali!
I know this sounds cliché and we say this is almost every year, but for me, 2011 really went by faster than you can say F-I-T. Figuratively, that is. I was tidying my bookshelves the other day and found an old notebook where I wrote my goals for this year. I ticked off 9 out of 10 goals... which is personally a huge self-accomplishment that I feel good about.
The one thing that I'm still working towards? Getting more page hits on withlovefay.com ! But hey, I'm complaining. Having this blog has not only helped me to motivate myself on some days, it's also helped me with my career. To have a platform where I can share my thoughts, what I've learned and the things I'm passionate about is GREAT and to have an audience (readers) who remember me for that is even GREATER.
Fitness wise - I learn something new everyday and it's created an even deeper interest in nutrition and exercise. Which is why I am planning to get a personal training certification by next year and take up a course on diet and nutrition.
The key to staying focused is to keep yourself motivated with knowledge and good examples. The more you apply what you learn, the better you get at it and the more you'll love it. Good Habits create A Better Lifestyle
That said, I'm done putting this off and I'm going to write my personal mantra and goals for 2012 right now! Have you done yours?
My Favorite Back Workouts
Abdominals are the most difficult muscle groups to train, but they are also very important. The stronger the abdominals the more stable the back and overall physique. Strong abdominals contribute to "core strength"; this is the ability of the abs and back to correctly support your spine. When core muscles are weak an imbalance is created, you have to take care of this. One way is exercise, I know it is a dirty word, but it's the only way to help with or prevent back pain and other problems. Improve your posture, train your back and get those abs.
You can't go wrong with these next few exercises.

Upright row. One-arm dumbbell row. Bent-over row. Seated row. T-bar row. Back extension (with weights). Front chin-up (with assistance). Front lateral pulldowns.

Another preview of a shoot I did for Creativehome that's coming out this month. All that hardwork is paying off afterall!

FACES Magazine: Malaysia’s Top 10 Sexiest People
So honored to be in this list! I've yet to check out the magazine myself but here are some photos from the shoot.

Loved what they did with my hair!

Work Hard, Play Hard

I'm a proud Maxitone ambassador! Taken at the SPH Women's Fair with Alex Chew, Director of Sales and Marketing for Maximusle and Maxitone.sg.

I love this makeup kit from Victoria's Secret... It's got all the colors I actually use.

My favorite soymilk... Try the almond soymilk. It tastes so much better! Plain, original almond milk provides 60 to 70 calories per cup, about 15 calories less than the same amount of skim milk.

Hosted the media launch of the new Motorola Razr in Singapore... Amazing phone! Makes me want to switch to Android...

Best headphones (ever) for working out... and I've tried at least a dozen.

Getting my tan on at FabulousTan at Mid-Valley Megamall (KL). Best for temporarily covering up stretch marks and scars. Forget tan-lines!

I see a bit of peach fuzz there too, Jin

Long lost brothers... Matt and Mark. But they are totally unrelated!

Look For Me In MEN’S HEALTH! + More Photo Updates…

Look for me in the December 2011 issue of Men's Health magazine (Malaysia)

As usual, some behind-the-scenes shots...

It happened to be scorching hot and sunny that day at the tennis court... I was dying! Would've definitely preferred no make-up and hair tied up.

What I usually wear to the gym: Loose t-shirt, black tights, Adidas CC Ride, gym gloves, iPod shuffle + headphones. I usually try to leave my cell phone at home, though.

Home gym? Only thing missing is my workout ball which I left in Singapore. Thinking about buying a kettlebell & medicine ball next.

Preparing meals for the next few days. ALWAYS PLAN YOUR MEALS! This is to avoid unhealthy last minute food choices.
Remember: THE GYM is the easy part. THE DIET is what separates the men from the boys and the shredded from the stoned. Abs are made in the kitchen.

Gym water bottle, water tumbler and green tea. Gotta STAY HYDRATED! Forgot to include my protein shaker bottle, hehe.

My favorite gym gloves are completely worn out

Bangers & mash flavored Doritos? I'll stick to Nacho Cheese.

So cute. I want one

I love horseback riding. But this horsey was a little lazy...

More photos of Yoda. He looks just like me...

Shoot for FACES magazine (coming soon). Loved the hair!

Messing around with my new Blackberry... Just got the new Bold 9900 and I love it! That's my mean face.

Halloween Day part 1 (Friday) at Avalon Singapore. Steve Aoki was spinning. No one really dressed up that night but Charles & I were already in the Halloween spirit.

Halloween @ MINK (Saturday). From left to right: Brokeback Mountain, Dracula, Korben & Leeloo Dallas from The Fifth Element, Redfoo from LMFAO (winner in my books!), Daisy Duke & sexy pirate.

I sewed my whole outfit together and even made this MULTIPASS!
What did you dress up as for Halloween?
Fast Facts: About A Low-Carb Diet & Total Calories
One metabolic difference between men and women is women burn a greater ratio of fat to carbs than men, which is the reason why women tend to do very well on a low carb diet. Due to this fact we recommend women follow a low-carb (not no carb) diet to lose fat and gain toned, lean muscle.
The biggest factor in a diet is calories in versus calories out; your total calories will determine if you lose or gain weight. Eating too many calories will lead to fat gain. But if you don’t eat enough calories you will not gain lean muscle. Setting a target calorie intake and counting the amount of calories you eat each day is vital to losing fat and gaining lean muscle.

Eat Clean. Train Hard. Live Healthy. Be Happy. Enjoy your journey!
